I became a professional photographer because my college photography professor failed me. He told me I was more than welcome to take his class again, but that my work sucked. I dropped out, packed up my NikonD90 and hit the road.
I went back to my hometown and forced my friends to be my models. My first reflector was a cardboard box with aluminum foil. Slowly I built up my portfolio, and in 2011 I moved to Kansas City with $400 and a trunkload of belongings.
I became a full time photographer in 2013, after once again being told I couldn't- but this time by a boyfriend. I quit my full time job, dumped the boy, moved into a duplex and got to work.
In 2016 I was voted the Best Photographer in Kansas City by the Pitch, and I am a full time professional photographer who travels all over the world shooting weddings.

Traveled to England this past fall!

I've become good friends with several of my brides and grooms- and while I don't become close with everyone I photograph, I do strive to make a real connection with ALL my clients, so that I can accurately tell their wedding story.
